The Domino joiner, with its revolutionary cutting method, simple indexing features and adjustable mortise sizing, makes flawless mortises every single time. The Domino tenon is equally as impressive – it’s 100% rotation proof and far stronger than either biscuits or dowels. It also has a large gluing surface area for extra strength. The Festool Domino… How to fix a stuck locating pin
The spring loaded edge locating pins on the Domino can occasionally get stuck. This is usually due to a spot of glue or other contaminant. Access to the back of the pin assembly is available from the back of the fence. First, remove the fence assembly from the motor unit. Then, in line with the pin is a 1/8” access hole in the back of the aluminum frame. If stuck, the pin can be pushed out using a punch or the shaft of a nail that will fit into this hole. When pushing in, at first you will feel a springy resistance until the spring is fully compressed against the back of the pin. Then, if the pin does not pop out when pushed, tap on the end of the punch until the pin is released. Then work the pin in and out until it is clear of restriction. In the case of glue, a bit of solvent or lubricant can be applied in order to dissolve or dislodge the residue. The hole behind the pin on the right side of the fence is covered up by the vacuum port assembly. This black plastic assembly is attached with one screw. Remove the tube and then remove the plastic baffle behind it to access the hole.
Domino fence calibration
After you've been working with the Festool Domino for quite some time, you may notice that the moveable fence on the Domino joiner will eventually "sit down" too far at the 90 degree stop. The surface of the fence is then not parallel to the base, and not 90 degrees to the cutting surface.

The adjustment is simple: Loosen the screw
that holds the benchmark knife edge in place.
It is directly above the angle clamping lever on
the left side of the tool.
Notice that when the screw is loose, and the clamping lever loose, that the benchmark is moveable forward and back.
It usually needs to be moved toward the back to lift the fence up a bit. The correct position might be easily determined if the Domino machine is pushed up against a thick piece of material with a known square edge, then tightened.
