Some issues with the hammer drill |

l've owned this set for 14 months and have now returned the drill 3 times. The first time, the chuck began dropping bits. They replaced the chuck but 3 months later the gear box began slipping. They replaced the whole drill, but now the spindle lock is slipping.
The first drill did this as well. So when I inserted a bit and tightened the chuck, it would rotate about 180 degrees instead of clicking down on the bit. Also the recipricating saw's adjustable shoe started retracting into the saw during use. I would set the shoe about half way out and lock it, but the lock started to fail. This means you wear out 2 inches of the blade and then throw it away.
I returned the set and talked to the Makita rep. He wouldn't budge on a refund or replacement kit(after a THIRD problem) so I am out of luck until they return the kit. I am an electrician and I depend heavily on my tools, so I would hesitate to buy Makita again.
