All three saws include Makita’s newly designed 7-1/4” Premium Framing Blade with Advance Tooth Design. The "M" shaped tooth design features a two-pointed tip and two 10° bevel faces to maximize cutting performance for a faster, cleaner and longer lasting cut.  The blade is also ultra-coated to reduce heat and pitch build-up for faster, smoother cutting.  The saws also include a blade wrench attached to the saw for fast and convenient blade changing.



Standard 5007FK and 5007FAK 7-1/4” Circular Saws

7-1/4” Circular Saws with LED Lights: 
The 5007FK and 5007FAK 7-1/4” Circular Saws are high performance tradesmen saws used primarily for wood framing, although there are numerous applications for which a circular saw may be used. These saws add increased versatility for more accurate cuts, and were the the first introductions of Makita’s new “Illuminator Series” with LED lights.
The key features are as follows:

The 5007NB, rated at 13 AMPS, consistently outperformed the competition’s 15 AMP saws in both power and performance (Motor MakFact). Now consider the 5007FK and 5007FAK with 15 AMP motors and a Maximum Watts Out of 2100; even more power than before for heavy duty applications. In side by side cutting comparisons under lab conditions, the 5007FK and 5007FAK proved to cut faster and provide more power than competitive saws in real applications. In fact, one popular competitor’s saw couldn’t even finish a cut of 4 feet in 25/32” In “Buried Blade” tests (running the saws under extreme force through pressure treated 4x4 until the tool stalled), the Makita saws outperformed the competition. With as much as 27% more torque under load and 32% more horsepower than most of the competition, the Makita 5007FK and 5007FAK prove to have all the power needed for any application.

Helical Gears. Makita’s heat treated, precision cut helical gears also add to the power and performance of the saws. This helical cut provides maximum power transfer and output. They also undergo a heat treating process to strengthen the steel making the gears stronger for professional durability.

AC/DC Switch These are the features that set the 5007FK and 5007FAK apart from one another. The 5007FK has an AC/DC switch, while the 5007FAK has an electric brake. AC/DC _ Switch. (5007FK only) With an AC/DC switch, the 5007FK can be used with a normal AC current 120V outlet, or with an alternative power source running a DC current. This gives the operator added versatility in using this saw.

Electric Brake. (5007FAK only) The circular saw with LED Lights from Makita also is available with an electric brake. This saw, model 5007FAK, will stop the blade faster for quicker repeat cuts. Model 5007FAK does not have an AC/DC switch.

Ease of Use Ergonomics. The 5007FK and 5007FAK have the same ergonomic design as the 5007NB and 5007NBA. A comfortably positioned handle with a large trigger hole and switch for easy operation with work gloves. The front handle is positioned to accommodate both comfort to the operator and a clear line of sight. These saws are relatively compact compared to the competition’s saws in the market—making them very maneuverable for such powerful saws.

Adjustments. Making adjustments on these new saws is very convenient. The knobs and levers for bevel and depth adjustments are easily accessible. They are large enough so that they may be gripped by large hands and while wearing gloves. The adjustments themselves are smooth and accurate for both simplicity and accuracy.

Line of Sight. As mentioned above all features are thoughtfully located so as not to interfere with the line of sight. The LED Lights are built into the tool housing so as not to interfere with what they are trying to enhance, the operators view of the blade and cut. The front handle is also positioned so as not to interfere, but still maintains a certain comfort level for the operator. Superior design has kept a clear line of sight despite an abundance of features.

Flat Motor Housing. The 5007FK and 5007FAK both have a flat motor housing design so that the tool may rest flat and sturdily when changing the blade. This makes changing blades both faster and easier. A flat motor housing is a worthwhile feature.

Arbor Lock. The arbor lock on the new 5007’s is conveniently located so that when changing the blade, it is easily accessible by the same hand holding the blade retractor.

Rip Fence. The 5007FK and 5007FAK both come standard with a 9-1/2” rip fence that can be clamped onto the base to ensure straight accurate cuts. Makita is one of the few manufacturers that supplies a rip fence as standard equipment.

Wraparound Base. Makita’s heavy gauge aluminum wraparound base provides a good balance to the saw when making cuts. It is the only base that has a ruler on both the front and the side for added accuracy.

ILLUMINATOR SERIES Makita’s new 5007FK and 5007FAK are the first introductions of an innovative, industry first line of power tools featuring LED lights: The Illuminator Series. These lights, integrated into the tool housing of these saws, so as not to get in the way of the line of sight that they are enhancing, make the 5007FK and 5007FAK great for not only framing, but other work that may done in low light situations. These saws are a great mix of power (with the 15 AMP motor and 2100 max. watts out), innovation, and versatility. They are both ergonomically designed for comfort and control, and have many other operator friendly features. Model 5007FK has an AC/DC switch for use with alternative power sources, while the 5007FAK has an AC switch with an electric brake for fast stopping of the blade. Not all work done with circular saws is done outdoors in sunny weather. There are many times where cuts must be made in low light situations, such as inside basements or cast in shadows, where alternative lighting would greatly help. It can also be difficult to see pencil lines on pressure treated wood, especially without proper light. There are infinite situations where additional light may be needed and the LED lights will assist the operator to achieve an accurate cut every time, in all situations. These LED lights are strategically placed just off of the inside of the front handle. They are actually integrated into the tool housing so that there is no interference with the line of sight. With this positioning, they accurately illuminate the area right where the blade meets the wood. The LED Lights shine directly on where the blade meets the wood.

LED Light Switch. The LED lights utilize their own separate switch to operate so that they will only illuminate the line of cut when the operator flips the switch. This switch is located on the top handle just in front of the saw trigger so that it may be reached without taking your hands off of the tool in operating position. LED Light switch is conveniently located for one handed operation. Expected Life. The LED lights usually have a half-life of 10,000 hours of illumination. They are resistant to both vibration and shock, and are guaranteed with a lifetime warranty.
